More About Us

The fabrics we use are of various types, including cotton, polyester, chiffon etc. Since these are fabrics that are collected from leftovers, we do not choose what we receive. And we try to make use of all the fabrics we get, inspite of its unsustainability, as these fabrics being thrown into the landfill without use would be a bigger disaster. We try not to turn down fabrics unless they are in bits and pieces, which cannot be used at all, in scrunchie making.

What We Believe In

Upcycling

We believe that upcycling pre-existing materials to make beautiful scrunchies is the best way to go.

Reusing

Making complete use of our resources by not leaving anything to waste is our business goal.

Reducing

We encourage our customers to buy items only when it is absolutely necessary.

Minimal Impact

We use pre-loved fabrics for our scrunchies and thereby reduces carbon footprint which would otherwise be caused for the production of these fabrics for the purpose of these scrunchies. By reusing these fabrics, we are ensuring that these fabrics don't end up at the landfill without use.

All our shipment materials are 100% recycled cardboard boxes which are recyclable and compostable. The transportation of the products is done directly from the production place to the customer, without any storage facility in the middle. Thereby it ensures lower carbon footprint.

5% of all the profits we make will be donated to CUPA Animal Shelter, Bangalore every quarter. Scrap fabric pieces accumulated during stitching will also be used to create animal toys which will thereby be donated to the same shelter.

Sustainability

How we pick fabric

The fabrics we use are of various types, such as cotton, polyester, organza blend and chiffon. Since these are fabrics that are collected from leftovers, we do not choose what we receive. We also try and use all suitable fabrics irrespective of their individual environmental impact, as sending them to a landfill would be worse than giving them new lease of life. We try not to turn down any fabric that can be reused unless it fails our hygiene standards or is in too degraded a state to tailor into a usable scrunchie.

How We Pack

The Green Circle has a strict policy of avoiding plastic in packaging and shipping wherever possible. We also attempt to reuse packaging material at every opportunity.

Our scrunchies ship in 100% upcycled cardboard boxes along with shipping labels and thank you notes printed on recycled paper. The package is held together with eco-friendly, water-activated paper tapes, with additional paper masking tapes where required. All of our shipping materials are 100% recyclable and compostable as well.

We believe the 'bling factor' should come from the product, not its packaging. As labels, business cards, and packages are usually discarded after the unboxing experience, we focused on the stuff that matters — great products.

The Green Circle philosophy of upcycling good quality fabrics does two things — prevent them from clogging up landfills, and (over time) bringing down the carbon footprint of new textile manufacture.

We also reuse cardboard boxes that may have been used for earlier deliveries, to maximise their utility. The transportation of our products is done directly from the place of production to the customer, without additional transport to storage facilities.

10% of all the profits we make will be donated to CUPA Animal Shelter, Bangalore every quarter. Scrap fabric pieces accumulated during stitching will also be used to create animal toys that will be donated to the same shelter.

How You Can Help

We sincerely hope you choose to reuse, recycle or compost all our packaging materials responsibly. Yes, all our packaging is 100% compostable!

We even encourage you to send our empty packages to small businesses in your locality that may be able to reuse them again.

And finally, do remember to point people in our direction when they ask where you get your awesome scrunchies from!
